Dr. Luis C. Navas Clinic – León, Nicaragua
A legacy of service to others

Dr. Luis C. Navas studied medicine in the city of León and was the first Nicaraguan doctor specialized in Othorinolaringology from Harvard University. He later studied plastic surgery at Oxford University in the UK. He returned to Nicaragua in 1951 to contribute with his knowledge on advanced ear surgery, reconstructive and cosmetic face surgery, as well as otorhinolaryngology.

He dedicated his life to the service of others by attending indigent patients for free in addition to his private practice. Dr. Navas retired at 85 years old due to health conditions. When his children would suggest for him to stop working because of his advanced age, Dr. Navas always replied, " Why do you want me to stop seeing my patients? I love seeing my patients! “

After seeing his son Luis H. Navas support ANF and the good work it carried out, a few months before his death he expressed his desire to contribute to ANF. His family decided to continue his legacy by donating and founding on November 2015, the Dr. Luis C. Navas Clinic.
